Credit: Mike Campbell / NurPhoto via Getty Images Today was a big day for Elon Musk and his newest publicly traded project. Musk, chief of Space Exploration Technologies (SPCX), or SpaceX for short, this afternoon revealed the company's quarterly results for the first time since its mid-June IPO. That meant big revenue growth across its divisions, as well as big spending, notably at its AI business. More from Yahoo Scout What are Musk's revenue projections for SpaceX? What drove SpaceX's 92% revenue growth this quarter? How did SpaceX's AI business perform financially? Why has SpaceX stock declined since its IPO? Given its vast ambitions, the precise numbers SpaceX reported revenue and operating losses were better than the Street expected likely weren't the big story of the day; still, with the price of a share of SpaceX stock having fallen to levels that two months ago might have seemed unlikely, investors weren't about to look past them completely. Shares of SpaceX finished Monday off their post-IPO lows, but below the $135 at which they were sold to the public, the $150 at which they opened trading, and their peak above $225. Asked what SpaceX's capital expenditures would look like in the immediate future given the company's lofty ambitions, CFO Brett Johnsen said the next two quarters should look "very similar" to the latest one. Musk, meanwhile, shifted the focus back toward the perceived revenue opportunity. "Prior to the IPO, the financial projections we had were reaching a trillion dollars in revenue in 2031," he said. "We now expect that to be in 2030, and there's a non-zero chance of that being in 2029." AUGUST 4, 2026 AT 09:03 PM GMT...
